Saxophone (Alto, Tenor and Soprano), Clarinet and Music Theory
Chloe Rezant, is a South African artist, based in Cape Town. She was introduced to music at a young age and comes from a rich heritage of music which stems from her family and the church. Her musical journey started on keyboard and marimbas at the age of 9. She started playing the Tenor Saxophone at the age of 12 and has since been doubling on the soprano, alto and baritone saxophones. Chloe also plays the clarinet as well. She obtained her Grade 5 Theory and Grade 7 Practical from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in 2011 and 2014 respectively. Chloe has recently completed a performance diploma at the University of Stellenbosch.
She is currently freelancing and performs regularly in a number of bands in Cape Town. She is a member of Sistahood, an all-female funk-jazz band. This band has performed at numerous festivals such as Jazzathon , and corporate events, featured on national television and hosted their own shows in and around Cape Town. She has also guested and featured on stages with the likes of Gloria Bosman, Don-Vino Prins, Andre Petersen, Clair Phillips, Judith Sephuma, Timothy Moloi, Jitsvinger and many others. Chloe has also recorded on Jitsvinger’s album in 2016. She has a great love for South African music and our heritage. Her music also has deep roots in the Pentecostal church, where she is still an active member of the music ministry. These strong, rhythmic, gospel and African influences can be heard in her performances.
